What To Expect When You Visit Us
- We have a new facility.
- Historically we are 150 years old, but kind of like a ‘new church’, replanted from the downtown area to the eastern suburbs of Rockford.
- Our church is an easy entry from Spring Creek (just south of Woodman’s) into our parking lot.
- Glass doors with a red awning off the parking lot is the entrance to the building; you may drive close and drop anyone off as needed.
- We consider ourselves loving, mixed generational family, and when you enter, you will quickly be greeted and given directions around the facility.
- We have adopted a casual approach to dress, and invite you to wear whatever is most comfortable. You will see people dressed in suits, and others in jeans or business casual.
- We have a blended form of worship, using contemporary music with hymns.
- Our pastor has a dynamic, teaching style with application to every day life when presenting God’s word.
- We use creative communication tools, such as video, short films, and most frequently, Power Point illustrations of the truths we are presenting.
- An offering is taken each Sunday, but we ask our guests not to participate, as we do not want you to feel under any pressure-this is for the family of Creekwood.
- We provide information packets to our guests, but do not announce or introduce you.
- We have loving caregivers for nursery and lower age children during adult worship.
- Children’s Worship includes children grades 1-4; they come into the sanctuary for the beginning of the adult service, and Pastor dismisses them early in the service, usually after a short “Children’s Moment” when they may come forward with other children & Pastor. You may come forward with them if they would be more comfortable and if you want to integrate them with the other children.
- We celebrate Communion usually on the 1st Sunday of each month. We invite guests to celebrate this sacred covenant if they have accepted Jesus as Lord and manager of their life.
- Children rejoin us for the Communion celebration so that they can be with their families; however, we ask you to use this as a teaching time if they do not fully understand the event.
- Close guest and handicapped parking is available-we are on one floor, easily accessible with those who may have disabilities.
- Worship starts at 10:30 a.m. Coffee and other beverages are available at 10 a.m.
